They may be enough, but my opinion is that you ideally need some professional studio pics done.
The quality is so much better, and it makes for a much more purposeful and refined shot, as well as giving you a better image and reputation.
Amateur 'snapshots' show you for being an inexperienced novice who hasn't done this type of work before, and whilst you may of course be this to start with, professional pics will cause people not to doubt what you are capable of as they can see the proof in the professional results in front of them.
There are many photographers on this forum alone who would be willing to do a Time For Prints studio shoot for you, myself included, and many other photographers on websites such as One Model Place and Net-Model, so check them out and get in touch to arrange something, either with me or a photographer who is local to you, etc.
Then it is just a case of putting the pics out there, getting a break and then snowballing it.
